Sample JSON Generator
No config needed. Add field names and types, set how many items you want, then generate sample JSON. Use it for APIs, tests, or mock data.
Max 300 items.
How to use the Sample JSON Generator
- Set Number of items to how many objects you want in the root array (e.g. 5 for five sample records).
- Define the structure with Add field: give each field a name and a type (string, number, boolean, array, or object). For array or object types, add nested fields as needed.
- Click Generate. The tool fills each field with dummy data (names, numbers, emails, etc.) and outputs valid JSON.
- Use Copy to clipboard to paste the JSON into your app, API tests, or documentation. You can change the structure or count and generate again anytime.
No config or setup: add field names, set the count, and click Generate. This tool creates test data and mock payloads in your browser; no data is sent to a server. Limits on array length and nesting depth keep the output manageable.
Where this helps in real projects
Frontend screens: When UI is ready before backend, generate realistic sample objects (names, emails, amounts, flags) so cards, tables, and empty states can be tested with believable data.
API contract discussions: Before coding endpoints, teams often share a draft payload. This generator helps you sketch shape quickly and align on field names and nesting.
QA smoke testing: A few generated records are enough to test list rendering, filtering, and pagination behavior without waiting for production data access.
Tips for better sample payloads
- Use field names that mirror your actual API (for example,
created_at,is_active,order_total). - Keep root item count small while designing (
5-20), then increase only when you need volume testing. - Do not over-nest early. Start simple, confirm UI behavior, then add deeper objects/arrays if needed.
- Avoid pasting real personal data into test artifacts. Use generated placeholders for demos and screenshots.
Sample JSON Generator FAQ
- Does this create valid JSON?
- Yes. Output is designed to be valid JSON that you can paste into tests, fixtures, or API tools.
- Can I generate nested objects and arrays?
- Yes. Choose object or array types and add nested fields. Practical limits are applied so output stays manageable.
- Is my data uploaded to your server?
- No. Generation runs in your browser.
